It is a friendly and inclusive space for the College’s 30,000 members to network and develop, focusing on connectivity between all specialties and all stages in surgical careers.
The View is also open to the general public for conferences, meetings and events. It boasts spectacular views of London and has a terrace guests can enjoy in the summer evenings.

It is the perfect spot to host a large conference or a beautiful wedding, nestled in a building steeped in history and bringing together modern facilities with a long legacy of research and scientific discovery in the heart of London.

A historical space on the first floor features the Library and Erasmus Wilson Room. The Lumley Library, as well as an evening event space will also be a fully functioning library. By the close of the 19th century, it was widely recognised that the Royal College of Surgeons possessed one of the finest medical science library collections in Europe. The suite of rooms can hold intimate gatherings, receptions and indulgent dinners. Given the historic nature of the surroundings, portable projector screens can be provided upon request.
The Conference Suite and rooms on the top floor of The View make up one large space, with capacity to hold up to 300 people for a drinks reception or theatre style. The space can also accommodate up to 120 cabaret style or 180 guests for dinner. The Park View space looks out onto the historic Lincoln Inn Fields, and wider London beyond. The room is equipped with a wide screen and podium, accompanied with repeater screens along the walls.
Lastly, we are an ideal venue to safely host exams. We have 28 exam rooms – with briefing spaces. Our exam circuits offer a professional, unobtrusive service which is ideal for concentration. Furthermore, we have excellent transport links, innovative technology and world-class facilities for those taking a range of examinations.
BY TRAIN: The View is centrally located at Lincoln’s Inn Fields within easy walking distance of Holborn (Piccadilly and Central lines) and Temple (District and Circle Lines) underground stations.
BY CAR: The View is a short taxi or underground journey from most major rail stations. Two NCP car parks are situated nearby.
The nearest multi-storey car parks are in Drury Lane and Bloomsbury Square.
