Daphne’s
Daphne’s, the Italian restaurant founded by Daphne Rye and based in Kensington reopened its doors in June 2014, half a century after it previously closed to reveal a new glamorous look. Daphne’s Conservatory is the events space in the restaurant, with an open fire to keep the space warm in the winter, but also cooled by a retractable roof in the summer, making it ideal for intimate drinks receptions and private dinners.
This is the perfect restaurant for intimate events, dripping with underlying history from the 1960s. Daphne’s Conservatory can seat up to 40 guests for a seated lunch or dinner, or 50 guests for a more informal standing reception with drinks and canapés. The room’s decor is absolutely stunning, with large vintage-style mirrors running down the space creating a really light and airy feel.
Head Chef Michael Brown works in Daphne’s kitchen and helps create bespoke menus for private events in order to highlight the produce of the season, making your event one of a kind. They also provide place cards and candles to create the perfect ambience.
We love venues with history, therefore discovering that the theatre agent Daphne Rye founded it in 1964 – the woman who famously discovered Richard Burton- makes this venue even more intriguing. The restaurant has long been a favourite of all the Chelsea locals as well as London visitors.
