New and improved conference venues 2020

With London at the top of meeting destination rankings, it’s no surprise that there is a record high for new hotel and conference space openings in the next year…

With a constantly developing list of locations and more choice than any other European destination when it comes to meeting and event venues, it can be hard to keep up with what’s new in the capital. We’ve created a short list of the conference spaces that we are most excited to see in 2020 – including completely new builds as well as some much-anticipated refurbishments. Whatever your budget or event brief, we can recommend the best (and sometimes newest!) event venues in London.

CCT VENUES – SMITHFIELD

Scheduled to open in January after a complete refurbishment, this venue is a perfect example of celebrating the old whilst embracing the new. Located above the Grade II-listed Smithfield Market in Farringdon, London, the space has been redesigned to be bright and new – creating an amazing place for any meeting with its 13 flexible rooms (allowing for anything between 6 to 220 delegates).

THE LONDONER

Costing around £300 million to build, this luxury hotel’s 2020 arrival in Leicester Square has been highly anticipated. The venue is set to be perfect for large conferences, with its three floor-high event facilities (located in the basement of the hotel), holding up to 1000 people.

PAN PACIFIC LONDON

Marking the luxury brand’s entrance into Europe, the 2020 opening of this hotel is great news for those wanting an eco-friendly conference space – with the hotel managing to be completely zero-waste! The ballroom venue being both sustainable and luxurious makes it a great space for important meetings, with the space holding up to 370 guests.

NOBU HOTEL LONDON PORTMAN SQUARE

Another new hotel opening in 2020 is this beautiful re-branding of the Radisson Blu Portman Square, located in the heart of London’s Marylebone. Featuring a newly designed ballroom and multiple meeting spaces, this venue is one to watch for conferences in the coming year.

CROWNE PLAZA

A more budget-friendly (but still highly anticipated!) opening is that of the Crowne Plaza in Kingston, coming in January 2020. The hotel is said to focus on ‘wellbeing for business’, making it an obvious choice! We believe that this modern and riverside venue is a great option for conferences – with the re-branded and newly refurbished Kingston Holiday Inn featuring five meeting rooms with facilities for up to 250 guests.
