The Collection team have handpicked some of our favorite restaurants and venues that are guaranteed to get your mouth watering. A networking lunch with potential clients or rewarding your team for good work, sometimes the occasion calls for something a little more special. The average restaurant table just won’t cut it. Here’s our pick of some of the most elegant and wow factor private dining rooms London has to offer.
The Mews of Mayfair is a unique hideaway, tucked away in one of London’s historic courtyards. The venue itself is located in two 18th century stable houses, with a range of bars located around the courtyard. This elegant dining destination caters for all tastes with a brasserie, pizzeria and a number of private dining rooms.
Following a quick refresh, the Mews of Mayfair has a newly found spring in its step and recently announced some new additions to its menus, from fresh and delicious seasonal dishes to opulent cocktails, as well as additional artwork added throughout the venue giving each destination its own unique character.
Bull Room
The Bull Room at the Hixter is an extremely versatile private dining and event space. The room retains a lot of the venies industrial features, such as floor to ceiling windows and glass panelled doors, but once you pull back the red velvet curtains the rest of the venue is shut away. Due to its close proximity to London Bridge this is a popular venue for corporate events and dinners.
Sushi Samba’s new Covent Garden location was one of the most eagerly awaited restaurant openings of the year. The brand is renowned for its unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine and culture. Your guests will enter the restaurant via a spiral orange marble staircase with large street art murals depicting Japanese mythology. One of the venues wonderfully unique features is it’s ‘living ceiling’, which is alive with lush South American & Japanese plants and foliage.
The venue has the capacity for 128 seated in the dining room; a bar for up to 26 guests and a seperate sushi bar with 14 counter seats. There is also a striking private dining room with a dedicated entrance and balcony for up to 16 guests or for standing cocktail receptions for up to 30 while the entire space can accommodate events up to 400. In the warmer months the open terrace will be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood.
The Balcony Room at the Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe is a stunning and unique private dining space. Situated on the top floor, this light and airy room has a private balcony that provides your guests with gorgeous views out on the Thames, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The Globe Theatre. Elegant panelled walls, a dark wood floor and a bespoke statement chandelier are all features of this space in addition to a private bar, cloakroom and bathrooms.
Located on London’s King’s Road The Ivy Chelsea Garden has inherited the luxury and sophistication associated with the brand, while brining a new relaxed vibe. The interior is decorated with a floral feel, the walls are covered with colourful vintage botanical prints, the chairs are upholstered in a similar style and the lights at a touch of glamour to the room with their handing gilt leaf pendants.
One of the venue’s most appealing aspects is its extensive garden and terrace. Located at the back of the building this space is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the King’s Road. The garden is expertly designed and complimented with antique mirrors, pots and other features. Relax in comfort on an evening with velvet chairs and cushions, flickering candles & cosy rugs.
For events the venue also has a private dining room which can seat 30 guests, or hold 50 for drinks and canapé receptions. The room is decorated in a similar floral motif and comes with a beautiful marble top private bar.
If the fact that the Brigade is housed in an old fire station wasn’t enough of a reason to visit, the fact that it is a social enterprise with a training kitchen that gives homeless people the chance to learn new skills should. Serving a menu of delicious British inspired foods the Brigade has two private dining rooms; The Library and The Gallery. The Library offers an intimate space for 6-8 guests, surrounded by the hundreds of cookbooks, while The Gallery is a semi-private space for 10-16 people.
The building itself is one of the oldest fire stations in London, having been built in 1879 following the Great Fire of Tooley St. The atmosphere is fun, informal and focused on food and provides the perfect backdrop for a dinner or work lunch.
Located in the heart of the West End the striking design and contemporary Spanish menu of Aqua Nueva provide a stunning backdrop for any event. Head Chef Yahir Gonzalez offers a menu of small plates and Spanish dishes that honour the country’s culinary heritage and innovation, combining the best seasonal produce with his contemporary style.
Aqua Nueva has two stunning private dining rooms – El Salon and La Casita. Both rooms can seat up to 14 guests on a bespoke hand stained oak wood oval table. La Casita has a private terrace and can also hold up to 50 for a standing reception. When both rooms are adjoined, they can seat up to 28 over two tables or stand up to 80 with private outdoor terrace overlooking Argyll street below.
