The World’s First Super Boutique Hotel

The Londoner will premiere in late 2020 as the world’s first super boutique hotel on the legendary Leicester square. Edwardian Hotels’ ethos is that boutique does not equate to a size; it is a feeling, and we want to create that feeling and experience for as many wonderful guests as possible.

A boutique experience is intimate, personalised and creates an authentic connection between the local area and London life. Whilst the hotel is staggering in scale, with 350 bedrooms and 16 storeys throughout, all rooms and areas have been tailored specifically with boutique attention to detail to create an exclusive and warm environment.

Sustainability at The Londoner

Sustainability is in The Londoner’s DNA. By using construction materials with a low environmental impact, sustainability has been at the core of its design from the earliest stages of development.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and LED lighting have been utilised throughout the building. In addition, we have incorporated many new technologies such as a liquid film which will reduce the evaporation and energy loss from our hotel’s swimming pool.

Furthermore, we are also aiming to contribute to the sustainability of our local area, by including a heat network connection within the hotel. This enables us to share our heating with our neighbours. We are initially linking The Londoner with our neighbouring hotel, The Hampshire, and plan to extend this network further in the near future.

As a result of these efforts, The Londoner has been awarded a BREEAM* rating of ‘Excellent’ by BRE*.This means that we are within the top 10% most sustainable new non-residential UK buildings, with the hotel set to use 30% less carbon than regulations demand.

The Londoner is embedded with advanced, flexible and resilient data and communications networks throughout, built around a high-speed fibre backbone. That means Wi-Fi speeds of up to 150Mbps, with support for both current and next generation technological integration.

The hotel is set on London’s legendary and historic Leicester Square, in the heart of the West End. The location provides unparalleled access to the city’s many transportation links, but is also within walking distance of London’s top attractions:
