5 Places to take your mum to this Mother’s Day!

Treat your Mum this Mother’s Day, by taking her out for the day to one of these hot spots. With options for small intimate dinners or just a coffee catch up there’s something for you.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

Located on the iconic King’s Road in Chelsea, this restaurant is known for good food and great memories! The overall décor is ‘outdoors-in’, with florals and greenery running throughout the restaurant giving the spaces a warm and refreshing atmosphere and making it light and airy, (even when super busy!) enhancing your overall customer experience.

The Garden & Terrace is one of the most popular areas at The Ivy Chelsea, known as their pièce de résistance and is quite literally bringing the outdoors-in. The Terrace area has a retractable roof, giving you the option for sun in the summer and cover during less sunny periods. Then there’s the garden; designed by Cameron Landscapes and Gardens, it has a mix of classic vintage mirrors, leafy greenery and beautiful ceramic pots. The velvet upholstered lounge chairs and large fire pit welcome you to the cosy space all year round.

The Ivy Chelsea also has an utterly gorgeous private dining room, The Eden Room. The botanical/tropical theme carries on into this space with the vintage wallpaper and artwork covering the walls. This private dining room can seat up to 30 on one long table, or 50 for a more informal standing drinks and canapé reception, available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a built-in bar this space is stocked and ready for any occasion you have to throw at it.

The femininity this restaurant has is empowering and altogether glorious. I know my mum would adore this restaurant, and I’m sure yours will too! Just down the road from the restaurant is the Duke of York Square home to the Saatchi Gallery, with altering exhibitions its perfect for a post or pre-lunch gander.

The Langham Hotel

The Langham Hotel is an iconic luxury hotel situated just behind the hustle and bustle that Oxford Street brings to London. It has been providing for its amazing customers since 1865 when it opened its doors as Europe’s first ‘Grand Hotel’.

If you are looking for a boujie but classical place to take your Mum this year, it’s certainly an option for you. Afternoon Tea is such a lovely experience, and the Langham has an award for ‘Best Afternoon Tea Service 2018’ therefore it’s worth the trip!

The Palm Court is the room of Afternoon Tea as it’s famed as the birthplace of the English tradition over 150 years ago. It’s a light and airy space perfect for an afternoon of catching up with your mum, then into the evening the atmosphere shifts with a live Jazz band performing Thursdays through to Saturday evenings.

The location of The Langham is excellent for girls trips out, with Oxford Street and Regent Street just moments away you can shop till you drop then have a pit stop for lunch or Afternoon Tea.

The Bloomsbury Hotel

The Bloomsbury Hotel is in the heart of the West End/Soho just a short walk from Tottenham Court Road station and close to all the hottest well-known spots such as Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Oxford Street. The décor running throughout this hotel is quirky yet antiquated with each room having a different theme and style.

The Coral Room is the main restaurant and bar at The Bloomsbury Hotel, with an Art Deco-inspired vibe it’s a perfect hidden gem for a drink or if you’re a bit peckish, something to eat. Open all day with the option for a bite to eat for brekkie, or a coffee and catch up with your Mum this Mother’s Day – then the space and atmosphere transform in the evening into a lively cocktail bar with a live DJ performing over the weekend. No need to leave – eat all day, and party all night!

There’s also the Dalloway Terrace, the epiphany of a highly Instagrammable spot with photo opportunities at every turn. It’s an outside space that’s heated throughout the year and is a lovely secluded peaceful place to get together with your Mum! The décor changes with the seasons, giving you the excuse to return again and again. Currently, the #Dallowayspringterrace is in full swing, bringing together bright pink, white and green flowers. It’s the perfect space to brighten up not only your Insta pictures, but also your day.

If you’re looking for somewhere quirky with the option for an overnight stay this is ideal for you both. With the added benefit of being in the West End you can pop out to see your favourite musical or theatre production before returning for a glass of wine.

Galvin La Chapelle

Galvin La Chapelle is located in the City of London just around the corner from Liverpool Street Station. This glorious venue has so much presence with its iconic large arched windows, high stone ceilings and elegant interiors it is the perfect backdrop to any event. The bare brick walls give the space a more rustic feel, balancing out the grandeur of the room with a more rugged interior.

This traditional and luxury venue has a gorgeous semi-private dining space. Located on a mezzanine that overlooks the main restaurant, The Gallery basks in natural daylight during the day and is full of atmosphere into the night.

This French-inspired restaurant is the perfect spot to take your Mum this Mother’s Day if you’re looking for a Michelin-starred meal in an opulent space. With a Mother’s Day menu, you’re set for the day! Within walking distance to Shoreditch, you can completely change your ‘vibe’ for the day and have a browse in some vintage stores or have a quick look around BOXPARK the popup shop market.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill is located just a five-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Station in the centre of London’s theatre district, the West End. The contemporary and sleek venue is known for its delicious fish-based menu, having served fish and chips for over 100 years.

With 5 private dining spaces, there’s lots of choice in regards to intimate events. Personally, my favourite space is the Swallow Library. This is a classy space perfect for VIP events as there’s a private entrance within the main restaurant. With a gold gilded ceiling and floor to ceiling books this is a library you won’t forget any time soon. The space has the capacity to hold up to 18 guests so is suitable for private dinners, lunches or breakfast events. The other spaces available to privately hire are Swallow Den, Crustace A Room, Rib Room, and The Swallow St. Rooms.

This is ideal for a Mother’s Day meal post or pre-theatre, as it’s within walking distance to the Piccadilly Theatre, Lyric Theatre, Apollo Theatre and many more. Therefore, whether you’re fancying a soppy singalong with Les Misérables or a more upbeat musical based on the film ‘Pretty Woman’, there is something nearby for you and your Mum!
