The Adventures of Olivia, our Sales and Marketing Executive – Luton Hoo
Olivia was invited by Sophie from the lovely Elite Hotel’s team to go and visit the wonderful Luton Hoo Hotel Golf & Spa. Located only a five-minute drive from Luton Airport Parkway, this is a very accessible hotel, with a journey time of 40 minutes door to door.
When coming onto the property, you enter via a long drive bordered by trees which opens out showing the grandeur of the front of the property. A stunning view appears amidst the trees that pictures don’t do justice. I pulled up in front of the main doors, feeling as though I had just stepped onto a film set (unsurprisingly Luton Hoo features as a set in many films). I was then welcomed by the wonderful doormen, who showed me through to the reception area and helped me along with my luggage.
This is where I was met by the lovely Sophie, who looks after the Elite Hotel group. Their group includes the likes of Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club in East Sussex, The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne, Tylney Hall Hotel and Gardens in Hampshire and of course Luton Hoo! Sophie was able to show me around all the events spaces, including the iconic office of Winston Churchill, the in house chapel and the purpose-built Warren Weir events space.
The hotel is lucky to be located within 1,000 acres of glorious parkland, meadows, woodlands, and lakes, allowing clients to play golf and take part in clay pigeon shooting. This also allows for lots of flexibility when organising corporate events. Further to this, Warren Weir is the perfect location if you are looking to exclusively hire a completely private events space. Located in the grounds of The Luton Hoo Hotel, this space offers a range of luxurious rooms, five meeting rooms, a hospitality lounge, and private leisure and conference facilities. Allowing your event to be completely private whilst have all of the amenities necessary to make it a success.
After my tour of the events spaces, Sophie showed me where I would be staying. I had a gorgeous suite overlooking the grounds and lake, a stunning view to wake up to in the morning – and definitely another positive for getting out of the hustle and bustle of London life!
That evening I went for dinner in the Adam’s Brasserie down by the golf club, as it was raining I got one of the adorable Luton Hoo cabs to drive me around the corner – however in the summer I can imagine the three-minute walk to dinner being perfect thing to whet your appetite.
The following day, I headed down to the Werner restaurant for breakfast, personally, breakfast is one of my favourite meals of the day therefore having the full spread was an utter delight. I was taken care of by all of the wonderful staff, and provided with lots of coffee!
After indulging in the whole breakfast buffet, I decided going for a long walk was probably for the best! The grounds are extensive, I passed the golf course, driving range and shooting range. Then followed this by a short relax on the patio whilst reading my book. Then I went onto the patio and read my book for a short while before I had a lavish lunch in the Werner Restaurant. This 2 AA rosette restaurant is divine, with a set lunch and evening menu you just can’t go wrong.
To end my stay here, I of course headed over to the spa to enjoy all the spa facilities including the sauna, steam room and pool. With a book in hand and lying on a sunbed, I was truly relaxed and it was such a perfect end to such a perfect stay!
If you are looking for somewhere outside of London for a corporate event, I would definitely recommend Luton Hoo. With such personable staff and being ideally located only a short distance from central London it’s the perfect spot for anything!
